The new Pandur 8x8 EVO combat vehicle will be presented to the public for the first time at the Bahna 2025 event.
The 35th edition of the largest demonstration of contemporary and historical military equipment in the Czech Republic, the Czech Army Land Forces Day – Bahna, will take place on Saturday, June 21st from 9 a.m. in the former military training area in Bahna u Strašic near Rokycany. In addition to the Army of the Czech Republic and NATO allies, leading Czech defense companies will also traditionally present themselves, which are also the main partners of the Bahna 2025 – Czechoslovak Group and its member automotive manufacturer Tatra and military equipment manufacturers Tatra Defence Vehicle and Excalibur Army.
Tatra Defence Vehicle will present the Pandur 8×8 EVO vehicle to the public for the first time at the Bahna 2025, which had its world premiere a few weeks ago at the IDET 2025 trade fair in Brno. The Pandur 8×8 EVO is a completely new generation of eight-wheeled armoured vehicle, which is characterized by a high level of ballistic and anti-mine protection, which fully meets the requirements of today’s armies for vehicles of this category, and has not only top-notch electronic and communication equipment, but also, for example, a situational awareness system.
It is based on artificial intelligence technology and allows vehicle crews to better perceive the overall situation on the battlefield, evaluate combat situations, and at the same time provides early warning of threats. The design of the Pandur 8×8 EVO platform allows the production of various versions of the vehicle, from combat, command and communication to fire support, air defense, engineer, etc.
At the Bahna 2025, the Pandur 8×8 EVO will be presented in the form of a wheeled infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) with an unmanned weapon station with the main armament 30 mm Mk.44S Bushmaster II automatic cannon. Other armament consists of a coupled machine gun and a pair of Spike 2 LR guided anti-tank missiles in a separate launcher. The weapon station is equipped with fully stabilized optoelectronic sights for the commander and gunner with automatic target tracking.
Tatra will present the modernized Tatra 810 M Tactic to visitors of the Bahna 2025 in a static display for the first time. The Tatra 810 M is a medium-duty all-wheel drive truck with a load capacity of up to 5.2 tons, which closely follows the proven and successful predecessor, the Tatra 810 Tactic, which is in service with the Czech Army and other armed forces.
It is a logistics and support military vehicle of the medium to heavy weight category (N2/N3) with a ladder frame and portal rigid axles, which is available in a 4×4 or 6×6 configuration. It is powered by an engine with power of 206 kW and provides a higher payload of more than 500 kg and improved driving characteristics compared to the older Tatra 810. Visitors will also be able to see the special military firefighting vehicle Tatra Force CAS 30 with a 6×6 chassis.
This type of vehicle has recently been included in the equipment of firefighting units of the Czech army in several versions. In addition, there will be a special firefighting rescue vehicle Tatra Force 6×6, which is equipped with several winches and a crane device with a low body.
Excalibur Army will show the audience at the Bahna 2025 the RM-70 Vampire rocket launcher in the latest version, which visitors could also see at the IDET 2025 trade fair in Brno or the DEFEA 2025 in Athens. The rocket launcher is designed for fire support of ground units and has a modern weapon control and guidance system as well as a fire control system with a ballistic computer, inertial navigation and GPS systems, communication and data link systems, and the ability to control the entire weapon system directly from the vehicle cabin or even remotely.
The rocket launcher uses proven 122 mm rockets, which are in service with many armies and which are also available in new, more powerful variants with a longer range. The rocket launcher has a bundle of 40 rocket pods; another 40 rockets are in the loading mechanism directly on the rocket launcher.
The event Bahna is organized by the Land Forces Command and the Land Forces Foundation of the Czech Armed Forces and is intended to demonstrate to all those interested in contemporary military technology the professional readiness of members of the Czech Armed Forces and NATO allied armies. Companies belonging to the Czechoslovak Group and the Tatra automobile manufacturer are traditional partners of events of this type and support events that bring the public closer to the activities of the armed forces that protect the security of the state and its inhabitants and enable the presentation of the latest products of the Czech defense industry.
