Tatra Trucks to Bring Latest-Generation Tatra Phoenix Tractor for Road and Heavy Off-Road Use to Agritechnica 2025.
After two years, Agritechnica – one of the world’s largest trade fairs for agricultural technology and machinery – will once again take place in Hanover, Germany. Agritechnica 2025 will be held from November 9 to 15, and among the exhibitors will again be Tatra Trucks, the oldest and largest Czech manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles.
This year, Tatra will present a brand-new, fully driven special tractor unit for mixed operation from the Tatra Phoenix range.
The core of Tatra’s civilian product portfolio is the Tatra Phoenix model series, the newest third generation of which entered production at the end of last year. Vehicles in the Phoenix range are produced primarily with chassis configurations of 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8.
However, Tatra’s original chassis concept with a central load-bearing tube and independently suspended swinging half-axles also allows the company to offer vehicles with five or more axles, and with various combinations of driven and steerable axles, including the so-called “crab mode,” which enables the vehicle to move sideways.
Tatra Phoenix vehicles are widely used in agriculture, the construction and mining industries, municipal services, road maintenance, as well as by fire and rescue services.
At Agritechnica 2025, Tatra Trucks will present a special Tatra Phoenix tractor unit designed for mixed on-road and heavy off-road operation with agricultural trailers. The vehicle features the proven Tatra chassis concept in a 4×4 configuration. The two-door black COE (cab-over-engine) cab offers seating for three occupants, with the driver’s seat and the right-hand passenger seat being fully adjustable.
Comfort features include air conditioning and heating, electrically heated mirrors, power-operated side windows, a roof hatch, and an audio system. The equipment package also includes a special cab protective frame (ROPS), two warning beacons, and two air horns.
The vehicle is powered by an electronically controlled six-cylinder Paccar MX-11 engine with an output of 330 kW, paired with a ZF TraXon 12TX2651TO automated 12-speed transmission with an integrated intarder and a Tatra reduction gearbox. The vehicle’s maximum technical weight is 19 tons, with a maximum load of 9 tons on the front axle and 10 tons on the rear. The maximum technical gross combination weight is 45 tons. The vehicle’s speed is electronically limited to 85 km/h.
The traditional Agritechnica trade fair is held every two years, with its history beginning in the mid-1980s in Frankfurt am Main. Since the mid-1990s, it has been regularly held in Hanover, where it enjoys great popularity among exhibitors and visitors from around the world. This year, exhibitors from 53 countries will present their products and services across an exhibition area of 389,000 m², and attendance in the hundreds of thousands is expected.
